PROGRAMS OFFERED

Wauconda Area Youth Soccer Club offers three levels of play to accommodate all players in the area:

WAYSC also offers other non-playing programs.

Our Tiny Kickers Program is for 4 and 5 year old boys and girls. Coaches and players meet once a week for 1 hour, with 30 minutes spent on skills and the remaining 30 minutes spent playing against another team.

Our Recreational Program is open to players of any ability who would like to play the game. All players are guaranteed to play at least half of each game. The Rec program has 2 divisions.

The U8 division is an in-house program for players who will turn 6 or 7 years old before August 1. These teams play against other teams in WAYSC. All games are played at Cook Park in Wauconda on Saturday morning.

The U10 and up division includes U10 (8 & 9 years old), U12 (10 and 11 years old), and U14 (12 and 13 years old) boys or girls teams. These teams play teams from other towns in the Fox Valley Soccer League , using game schedules provided by the league scheduling committee. This includes teams from Algonquin, McHenry and Harvard, among others. Games may or may not be played in Wauconda. All teams are subject to the rules and regulations provided by the Fox Valley Soccer League.

Our Select Program is organized by age and gender. It provides a highly competitive training and playing environment for those players (and their families) who have the required athletic ability, soccer skills and commitment.

Making the roster, and staying on the roster, must be earned based on individual play. Select soccer playing time is based on the team’s needs and is at the coach’s discretion within the WAYSC Select Policies. WAYSC will sponsor a select team in any age and gender bracket provided there are enough registered players to field a team. Boys teams play in the Young Sportsmen’s Soccer League (YSSL). Girls teams play in the Illinois Women’s Soccer League (IWSL). All select teams are subject to the rules and regulations provided by their respective leagues. Try-outs are held in June of each year and any player may try out for a team. Travel players are not held to the same age restrictions as are rec players and may play on a team several years older than their own age provided he or she has the necessary skills and commitment.
