U8 OUTDOOR COORDINATOR
- Get coaches manuals from equipment director and update for distribution at the coaches meeting
- Get the rosters, team counts and coaches names from the registrar. If teams do not have a coach, you must call all parents listed and try to find a coach and assistant coach. If for some reason one cannot be found, it should be brought to the attention of the board for any leads and/or suggestions.
- Relay any pertinent information received from any or all board meetings that need to be relayed to coaches ( i.e. uniform pick-up night, picture or picnic info)
- Handle any questions, problems or suggestions brought to the attention of the U-8 Coordinator from any coach, assistant coach, parents and players. Report any of the above to the board members if he/she cannot handle the situation or needs suggestions.
- Make sure all coaches, assistant coaches and parents who are involved with the players in any way have filled out the WAYSC Code of Conduct and IYSA Disclosure Form.
- Attend some of the games and/or practices of the teams in this division to be fully aware of the teams and their activities.
- Create and distribute a game schedule to all coaches and board members
- Organize and run (with the WAYSC board) a coaches' meeting prior to the start of practices (early August at the latest). The meeting should include distribution of all necessary WAYSC rule, guidelines and manuals, schedules, maps, etc. There should also be a first aid clinic included at this meeting. All necessary coaches' paperwork will be filled out and submitted to the IYSA coordinator.
- Supply a game schedule to each director. This will insure that the necessary game day arrangements can be made (field maintenance, concessions, etc). Also post a game schedule on the website.
- Insure that all coaches understand and are coaching within the WAYSC guidelines (constitution, bylaws, policies, etc)
- Field and answer any questions or concerns that the travel coaches, parents or players may have and report to WAYSC any major concerns. You will be the contact person between the board of directors and the program
- Any disciplinary action the board deems necessary (written warning, suspension, expulsion, etc) to impose on any travel coach, parent or player, will be your responsibility
- Attend all board meetings
